Point Blank

In the book Point Blank it was very great and it is one of those books that are make me want to read and I can sort of predict what is going to happen the book. The prologue starts in New York with a business man/CEO of a company and it says that he is very scared of being attacked by someone or killer. He started being very cautious about his safety ever since he was shown on a magazine talking about how rich he is. So then he started have body guards around an he even paid a ex-FBI agent be his valet and the ex-agent has a pistol and he knows how to use to his advantage. So he always a body guard with him at all times except when he is in his office. And to keep him safe going to his office he has his own elevator and no one can go into his private elevator. His assistant Helen is very suspicious about her boss because she says that,"He's acting very weird lately." She explains that he hasn't been well and early that week she asked to call a man who was marine officer. So something was interesting to her. And on that same day an engineer comes in to fix an elevator that is said it is not working. The man wasn't really engineer, it was a killer called the "Gentleman" because every time he kills a person he sends flowers to his/her family members. So the Gentleman had to the business man and he would get paid by these villainous men $100,000. So what he does is that he pretends to be an engineer and he pretends to be fixing the business man's elevator, but instead he sends the elevator up to the roof and keeps it there. An she puts a hologram in the elevator shaft to make it seem the elevator is still there. So when the business man is going to the elevator he falls down the elevator shaft. And the next day the security guards find the man dead in the basement. And in an airport the Gentleman is going to plane to Switzerland because that is where he lives. But before he leaves he sends black roses to an address and leaves without saying a name. This prologue was much longer and it sounded like the business man was going to die sooner or later. And maybe that was why he was acting weird.

Percy Jackson

The Percy Jackson and The Olympians stories have action and mystery to it because there is trouble and there someone who messes with them and tries to destroy the gods or the world. That is why I choose Percy Jackson and The Olympians.

The Battle of the Labyrinth

In the beginning of this book the author immediately throws in the action and mysteries. In the beginning Percy Jackson is getting ready to go to a new school called Goode for high school. And already Percy is worried because he is going to a new school and there is a red hair girl standing outside talking to the principal named Rachel Elizabeth Dare and she met Percy Jackson at Hoover Dam once when they were trying to get through guards. She saved his life and he almost tried to end her's (accident). So they sort of have a bad history together, so he tries to find another way into the school so that Rachel can't spot him. He tried to go through the side entrance, but there were two cheerleaders there. One cheerleader named Tammi had blonde hair and blue eyes that were beautiful to look at and the other cheerleader named Kelli had dark curly hair like Medusa. They asked Percy his name and when he told them it they look like they were about to attack him. And Percy was about to pull out his sword, but then their principal Paul Blofis (aka Percy's mom's boyfriend) yelled Percy and Percy just went towards Paul and the two cheerleaders were still at the door. But when Percy looked back the girls have already disappeared. So Percy then goes to the gym for a presentation to the school and he tries not to get crushed or crumbled by a crowd. He then sits down, but then notices that he is sitting right next to Rachel. He then starts to have an awkward conversation with her. He tries to enjoy the presentation, but then Tammi and Kelli are on stage saying things to the crowd. Then Rachel leaves with Percy to hide and she says that those girls are not human (she can tell because sees through mist that monsters have to protect their identity from humans/mortals). Then comes a fight part and Tammi and Kelli turn into these creatures called empousa which are like vampire, human, animal hybrid. They fight Percy and try to eat Rachel and Percy. Percy kills the two monsters and one goes up in flames which is very odd (when monsters are killed they turn to dust). Then Percy tries to leave the school when the sprinklers turn on and when leaves Annebeth is outside and he explains the whole story to her. Rachel tells Percy she will help cleaning up the mess that Percy made. Then the next they are in a cab going to camp half-blood. So this story starts off with a lot of action and old faces than the other books I've read. And there are some monsters in this book that I've never even heard of and when the monster turned to flames that is a big mystery. So in just one chapter there is already some action and some mystery.

Night Hoops

Night Hoops is one of the greatest books I have ever read by far. I've only read 20 pages and the book has already drawn me into the story. In the beginning of the story I can already tell that the story is going to be about basketball and is really emotional. The beginning sounds like a dramatic movie because in those types of movies it starts out the with a part in the movie that is emotional and then goes to the beginning of the character. Like in the Blinde Side when Michael was in the office room with the lady. It was just like that except one kid was with another kid that he knows and they start playing basketball together. It is at night. The main character starts talking about how good they both were and how an even match it was and that he was playing much better than he does in the day. It seems that the main character is more happy than the kid that he is playing with. They kept playing until a pause and it went to the beginning. Then it was talking the main character who was playing with his friends and this kid named Trent Dawson was playing without heart and he was being strong to the basket. It was hard to stop him and they almost gave up. They all thought that Trent was good and when he left slowly one by one they left Abbott. And he went home. So the book starts with basketball and it seems that the main character has an enemy or some one he just doesn't like. The book goes right into what is happening with main character. And mean while in Abbott's house his mom and dad were arguing on a basketball court for Abbott and his brother to play on. But his mom has her garden in the spot where he wants to build it. Eventually he does and Abbott's mom is really angry at his dad and seems like she might not be able to forgive him. So starting here there is a lot of drama already and there is a lot of basketball too. This book is fun to read cause it goes right into the story and I can tell that this story is going to be long and interesting.

A Tale of Two Cities

This book is by Charles Dickens and I really like his books because he makes his books take place in the past and when describes the characters or the place it sounds like your actually there or with the person. The two cities are in england and France and in this time period France still doesn't England, but they don't fight each other. And in chapter two one part is when a coachman and man named Joe were riding on there horses to this house and then they found a box in the house. The coachman went outside and Joe stayed inside looking around. Then the coachman yelled to Joe watching the box and yelled to him in a warning voice "Tst. Joe." Then after he yelled at him a horse was running towards them.

My Book: Killing Mr. Griffin

The book Killing Mr. Griffin is really great because it has some mystery and suspense in it. This book is already really good to read and it even sounds like a good book when you read the cover. There are a lot of characters that it is hard to know which one of them is the main character. One of the characters (whose name is Susan McConnell) knows that someday she is going to be rich and live in house on the beach near the ocean escaping her normal life of noise and boredom. All she would hear is the peaceful ocean breeze and she would smell the scent of fresh saltwater. But sadly that day isn't there yet. She has to live her annoying brothers and go to a school whose english teacher is mean to everyone. To me Susan is one of those people who just want to run away from their everyday life and live somewhere so they can be free and I like that about her cause sometimes I want to do that. Another character in this book is every girls dream. His name is David Ruggles and he is on the basketball team. That is cool because I love basketball. He is  smart and popular at the same time and every girl in the school (including Susan) is nuts over him. Other students in the story are trouble makers named Betsy Cline, Jeff Garrett, and Mark KinneyLean. They all got angry at their english teacher Mr. Griffin for giving them a bad grade for not turning in their homework. They couldn't cause they were all at a game the day before. Jeff started to argue with Mr. Griffin and after the argument Jeff whispered to Mark "That Griffin's the sort of guy you'd like to kill." Then when school was over Mark kept trying to talk Betsy and Jeff in scaring Mr. Griffin by thinking that he was kidnapped. Finally they said yes they would do it. This part helps lead to predictions.Like they could the people who kill him. This is mysterious book and I like to challenge myself with a mystery.
